I live in east Dallas...Licensed journeyman(SBCCI) electrician, industrial controls specialist, and professional electrical eng.instructor. Currently another Journeyman, two helpers, and myself are building a new control room, yard signalling, and metering for a large TXU electric switchyard (345KV) just east of Dallas. I got such a tickle out of "Barefoot on a Metal Ladder with a Drillmotor (in the swimming pool) I HAD to print it to take to work and show everyone (including all the linemen outside). Great laughs and I appreciate Sparky's sense of humor with "HOLY COW!!!" The TXU electrical sup's even redid that photo's caption with "Barefoot Burns"-Ladder Bandit". Last Friday, the TXU job superintendent fixed home-made Texas style deermeat chili in the biggest cast-iron skillet I've ever seen, over a propane burner in one of the work trailers. It was enough chili for ALL of us to have seconds, and then some. Being a working electrician never ceases to be a rewarding and often fun career.

Hi all:
I went through the Navy apprenticeship and finished a BSc and MSc along the way. I left a swell job (note sarcasm) as an electrical foreman at a steel mill south of Chicago to come down to sunny Georgia.
I currently work for the craziest cool company ever (we even have a car in trans-am series...look for the big green smiley)called automationdirect. I support VFD's and starters.
I have to say, this is by far the best forum I belong to. Thanks guys.

Yeah, Wolfdog.........pretty close. I actually live around the Lakewood Shopping Center (where Abrams crosses Gaston). Hey, what did you think of this snow today? Been a mudpit in the new Forney switchyard for us lately....of course when we eventually finish it THEN they'll bring in and lay down about 20 thousand tons of gravel.
