I'm not sure. I know that some of the extended range meters (400 and 600 amp) actually bolt in to be able to handle that kind of load. Maybe someone just didn't tighten it down.

You're a good man. Most B.I.L.'s need to have their head put in a meter socket and sealed. [Linked Image]

Has anybody seen that old video of a meter being plugged into a dead short and blowing up? If so, does anyone know if there's a site on the web that has it for download?
