Hello to all, this is my first post on this forum and I am a little nervous...(kidding) Regarding the breaker cycling issue, I work in a processing plant that uses many 6oo to 3000 amp low voltage switches (480 volt) I too agree that regular cycling of these breakers will save time and money when you REALLY want them to work. From an operating point of view, I want to know that a given breaker will RESET if it trips. I have seen broken linkages, bolts and cams that caused me many hours of headaches (and supervisors standing over my shoulder asking what is taking so long....) Cycle breakers when ever you can.
