Since the state rebate program is bankrupt here, still owing millions, it is really what makes sense financially for the customer without the rebate (as it should be). The club where my wife works is doing a lot of number crunching. That is where the dimmable CFL in the <existing> Par 38 can idea came from. My concern would be how long they last, base up in that can.
They are also looking at LEDs to replace T-8s and I think that will never make sense if you actually crunch the numbers but the HOA board is on a green crusade.

I have always installed JUNO. My first time installing NORA lighting.
Pros: lamp wattage 26-42, dimmable, cost $120
Cons: cheap/flimsy construction

The job is not at finish stage yet, so i can't give you any feed back on the light output and performance.

etta> years past i usually did lighting layouts, gave people catalogs, links, or sent them to a lighting shop to pick out their lights, all i required was the particular type (i.e.- pendant, track, CTC, fan/light, etc) to properly rough it out.

I usually added the 'internals' into bids (cans, bath fans, etc) because the customer would inevitably hold up the job, or get non-IC where ii needed IC

I mean, most lighting comes down to fashion, and what do i know about that anyways? I don't even understand matching socks....

So i guess you could say i dodged the lighting bullet...

Now things are different, not only do i have customers who are inquiring about effiacy, i have GC's that are playing it up as well
