Thieves got a bunch of copper - 15 runs in all - 2 runs are type GGC. Unfamiliar to me.

Can someone make me smarter about the GGC application? Has 2 ground wires, and a smaller "check wire".

Thanks!

Thanks for comment. I know it's mining cable, and EXPENSIVE, What I'm looking for is how it's used for ground check....

The ground check cable is used in conjunction with a meter to determine if the grounding path has become impaired due to mechanical action/ pulling tension.

The logic is similar to a hospital setting: the grounding path must be perfect at all times to avoid a catastrophic spark.

The pdf lists the ohms per foot of the various cables. Any deviations from factory spec indicate a degraded grounding path. Continuous monitoring from the source end would permit the circuit to be de-energized the instant something went awry.

Hi Tesla

Didn't see the PDF you referred to, but I think I've got the concept - sorta like a GFI on steroids:-)

Thanks!
