Rick, I was on 3 different code committes about 20-22 years ago. I resigned because I found that what you referred to as "politiking" was rampant in the various committes. It is worse than local politicians with the deals and "I know this guy and he's just trying to embarrass us" and "What does a rube from Thief River Falls know about needing changes"? I personally heard these comments, and many similar, from so-called respected members of the industry. Also, lobbying by manufacturers puts those in Washington to shame as there are no ethical constraints in wineing and dining committee members.
