My company has several of the Greenlee hot boxes for up to 4" PVC 80 and for some reason they all have replacement cord caps on them (NEMA 5-15) grin Nameplate shows 2000W @ 120V, and yes, technically a violation (all our extension cords are 12 or 10 AWG thankfully)

"Nope.....but none of those items bend RNC, they heat RNC. (I am only 1/2 joking...think about it)

"My hands bend RNC and they are identified by me for bending.

It's really a very poorly worded section of code that is simply ignored out in the field."

Yes, what is used to do the bend is basically unknown at inspection time.

When I see the PVC with visable burn marks, & on occasion kick the propane torch into the trench...that buys a 'fail' sticker.

Seriously, I have no way of knowing the method/tool used for bending any conduits, be it two trees, the truck bumper or tire or a 555, I look for damage & code compliance.
