Could be that the big knockout was to prevent overheating if they had 1 conductor coming in each of the factory KO's????

Think of it as job security. It seems like most of your work is replacing stuff that hackers put in.

If Virgil thinks like I do, he is bemoaning the fact that someone has already paid for this once and they expected it to be done right.

Redsy, LOL! Yes, it's a happy load center...

Scotts, Tom has it right, it's very frustrating and sometimes I look like I'm just trying to drum up business. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) this is a lawyer's office, I think I can convince him of my liability concerns.

where was the ahj?

In this particular town, a City Building Inspector inspects the work, but he really doesn't know what to look for and probably hasn't been given the oportunity to see it anyway. No "real" electrical inspectors have seen this either and they only inspect new services.
