hemingray, i belive the meters in the pic are the westinghouse DS or D2S style,i have several in my meter collection,& seem to rember mne only having 4 dials or the odometer type with just 4 digits. wizzie, why didn't the power company put terminal guards on the blank sockets ? or is this customer owned meters & not the utility's?

Something I hadn't thought of, does anyone remember the thread up here about a year ago about the energy efficent experiment house? It is possible that these meters were all installed so that the homeowner/whatever could keep a close watch on what devices were using how much electricity. If you look closely, some of those little 2-space panels off the meters only have one breaker.

Just a thought.

I believe they are customer owned meters.

Each meter is for a seperate motel room.

Thanks.

Why do you think they would want seperate meters for each room? Do you get charged based on how many lights you have on? That seems a little odd to me.

Hm... if the rooms have like electric baseboard heat that could be an idea.
