Hi everyone, it's been a while that I wasn't here.
I wanted to ask if anybody can help me find a scehmatic for a ballast for a HQL 250W (Osram-MBF-U)lamp. What struk me is that there is no starter. Am I right in saying that the starter is built in the lamp? What about a condesator?

Gidday there Eli!, [Linked Image]
I'll see what I can dig up for you.
They're common around these parts. [Linked Image]
A MBFU (Blended High Pressure) lamp requires only a starting ballast.
The only starting equipment (a starting resistor and an arc contact) is held within the arc-tube of the lamp envelope.
Provided you have the correct ballast, it should start and run as per normal.
All the ballast does is control the current drawn by the lamp during starting and running of the lamp.

Yes, thanks, Trumpy. That's what I suspected, that the starter was in the lamp itself, but wasn't 100 percent sure and had difficulty finding this info.
