Oops, my apologies. I thought the box was embedded into the concrete, not surface mounted.

Scott, you were right the first time.. the box IS set into the concrete. As I said, this GC did good cement work.... an little else [Linked Image]

Our local rules call for everything... UF, pipe, whatever... to be buried at least 24." Digging that deep here is ALWAYS a major chore. It is also rarely done.
