ECN Forum Forums Code Related Discussion NEC & other Code issues Emergency Lighting System - Commercial Building

Once the Authority Having Jurisdiction determines a commercial building requires emergency lighting fixtures / exit signs, what NFPA document is used to determine exactly which rooms, etc. they are to be installed in? I searched NFPA 101 - Life Safety Code and could not find the information.
