Removed a medicine cabinet from a house built about 1955. It had fluorescents built-in on each side and outlets and switches in the lower part. What intrigues me is the wire connectors. There were connectors that looked like short red scotchlocks with a yellow upper skirt. The red portion is 7/8” and the yellow portion is 9/16”. The red part is hard, like scotchlocks, and the yellow part is very flexible. Another strange item is the markings. One has “3M R/Y R25 8-22”, another is “3M R/Y L25 8-22”, and the third is “3M R/Y -20”. These letters/numbers are cast into the skirt of the red portion. I can deduce they were a product of Minnesota Mining & Manufacruring. Anyone with knowledge of these items?
