424 requires:
Disconnect within site of equipment or controler, and in some cases be able to locked open.
And 427 requires:
"disconnecting means shall be of the indicating type and shall be provided with a positive lockout in the “off” position."
Sounds like either way it may need to able to locked open.... Then again I have always done them with a lockable fusable disconnect switch, when I thought they were under a different code....
