Thinking about using a barcoding system for inventory. Basically the idea of what is used for retail stores.
Computer software.
Handheld scanners.
Barcode printer.
It would be to log all shop invetory.
Van stock, in and out.
Re-order of stock.
Possible job tracking/billing.
All parts already have barcode attached.
Wondering if anyone has implemented such a system, and how much time is involved on a day to day basis keeping it running.
As with typical paper nightmare piles, human diligence in writing all info for stock in and out of vans and shop is very tedious. Laziness and error always get the better of us.
So I'm looking for cost/time/simlpicity as a high tech solution to a taxing problem.
