I was referring to the simple spring wound type timers.

Checked my Intermatic Catalog for the type of control device you are referencing (I hope [Linked Image]...), and the same goes for the manual control feature.
Activating this feature allows for temporary or permanent manual over ride ability - for either constant on or constant off.

Unit must be reset to the "Automatic" position / function, before timed events run.
