Ray, if it is a standard 9-lead, 3 phase motor, it will be either wye or delta wound, but not both.

You will have to know which it is, because if it is wye-wound, is won't operate properly with the windings connected delta.

You can easily determine that with any continuity tester.

The NEMA 6-lead, 3 phase motor could be either a two-speed motor or a single-voltage motor designed for use with a wye-delta starter.
