The ones I buy use 120v directly into the lamp (Feit). You remove the ballast and direct wire into the tombstones. I assume they also make a 277v version. It does make lighting become an insignificant part of your overall load. The newer ones also have a 5 position switch to select your color. In the garage I am OK with 6000 but I like 2700 or 3000 in most places in the house
