Looking again, that interior molding sure looks like the stuff the HVAC guys use to cover the ref lines on the mini splits down here.
That "molding" sure looks a lot like the PVC guttering that's on my garage...
Your HVAC guys must have been at the same class our Mediacom techs went to. Lots of old apartment buildings near me have bundles of cable TV lines running through metal downspout pipes.
