Maybe this is just a Florida thing but the local building offices have nothing to do with the school building, inspection or maintenance business.
My district even hires their own fire marshal. If you don't complete the training I got last week you can't work there, no matter what, even with a Florida license (inspector in my case but the same is true of architect, engineer and project planner). That was who was at the show along with school board employees.
They live in their own world from DoE in Tallahassee to the man on the shovel in the ditch.
