I don't want to keep harping on this issue, but look what happens when the manufactures write the NEC. They promote their own equipment. I feel the only place a manufacture is allowed to sit on a code making panel is when the section of the code refers to the construction of a piece of equipment.

Hmmm... you mean maybe something like they did with the AFCI back in the 2002 NEC, which said we would need to install them in bedrooms starting in 01/05? And then again mandating the change to C/AFCI’s as of 01/08 in the 2005 NEC? And now in the 2011, mandating the AFCI outlet device for extensions and modifications starting in 01/2014?
