Doesn't 2002 code require some form of treatment on non factory cut threads in areas where corrosion protection is needed.
Articla 300.6(a)" Where corrosion protection is necessary and the conduit is threaded in the field, the threads shall be coated with an approved electrically conductive, corrosion resistant compound"
In Maine this has been interpeted to mean(at least in my case) anything underground but I guess it could mean anything outside if it could get wet.
Apparently factory threads do not reguire coating?
