I have a Lacrosse 2308, connected to a "throw away" laptop and net connected. (Heavy Weather Beta 2 and Heavy Weather Publisher software)

The wind sensor is on a 2x2 aluminum post above the garage with a 3/8" copper air terminal above that, connected to the ground with 2ga copper. The wind sensor actually sticks out to the side of the post so when I had my lightning hit I assume the shot actually went past it
