I don't see any issues either. You actually are lucky to have that opening for the conductors. The only thing I would add is straping or supporting. I guess they could hang straight down with NM connectors supporting them at the top? How about a large diameter PVC conduit strapped to the interior of the cavity. Covers any physical damage possibility.
