First, where did you get that list?
International building code, and International residential code, are these what architects use to spec. building components?
Before I assault you with any more questions, I'll explain:
A contractor I wire room additions for has asked me to do his drawing for him in AutoCAD. I'd love to. I love AutoCAD and don't have enough reasons already to use it. So I'll draw them and if the village requires an arch. stamp, he'll have it reviewed and stamped. But I want to draw them so they need no revision, but I don't want to overbuild it just because I don't know any better.
I have plenty of similar room plans that have already been built to look at for reference. I would however prefer to double-check requirements. I have seen it plenty of times when an arch. doesn't know the NEC, they over-spec it to cover themselves.
Plus I have grumbled before with other trades about how the print we are looking at can't or shouldn't be built that way, and how I have always thought it should be a requirement for arch.'s and engineers to spend a few years in the field with tools as part of their internship. Not that I'm on my way to becoming an arch., but now is my chance to draw a plan the way it is actually going to be built.
