I fired my guy this morning and it didn't go very smooth. I've, unfortunately, had to fire several guys this past year, but this didn't go very good.

The guy was very slow and I wasn't getting my money's worth, but I fired him because he did a side job for a homeowner of one of our contractors, a job I had quoted. He didn't see this as a problem. He had also borrowed a ladder to do "a side job", which turned out to be this job. He slammed the office door and then threw the ladder across the parking lot. He came back in the office and tried to talk his way back into a job, then said "You haven't seen the last of me" in a way that was threatening. It made me think I should have a gun with me for a while. Not a good day. If anybody ever thinks it's easy to fire someone, think again, I don't like it, just do your job and we won't have these problems.
