How much would be lost to I2R if you tried to move all that power east of the Mississippi?
The west already gets plenty of cheap hydro power.
That real; estate issue is still going to be a problem in the east and you do not have the great weather.
I am still waiting for a PV array salesman to pitch me a system that will pay back in my expected lifetime.
