I've seen this term used before, by a certain member of ECN.
What does it mean?.
Help, please!!!!.
I hope that it is not a derogatory term?.

Also, I am not looking to flame the person who used these terms.

It was me who used it first, right? Sorry for that, I just had gotten so used to it, didn't realize some of you may not be such frequent surfers like me (I spend way too much time in front of my monitor).
thanx for explaining ROFLMAO! didn't understand that one.

Trumpy,
I've seen whole lists of these acronyms. Some of them are getting so ridiculous these days that 99% of people probably don't understand them!

Anyways, here are a few more common ones that are fairly widely used, off the top of my head:

AFAIK = As Far As I Know
BTW = By The Way
FWIW = For What It's Worth
IIRC = If I Recall Correctly
LOL = Laughs Out Loud

Then there are ones like SNAFU and FUBAR which pre-date the Internet by many years!

SNAFU = Situation Normal, All Fouled Up
FUBAR = Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition

(They're the polite versions..... [Linked Image])

i heard some of these are even in the dictionary.

<Trivia>
These Acronyms were originally used when BBS's and user equipment had memory space limitations - and connection speed / types were the old and slow grand daddies of yesterday (AKA 300 Baud MODEMS).
</Trivia>

A few others:

TLA = Three Letter Acronym,
TIA = Thanks In Advance,
OTC = On The Contrary,
AFK = Away From Keyboard,
BBS = Bulletin Board System / Service,
BG = Big Grin,
IMO = In My Opinion,
IMHO = In My Honest / Humble Opinion,
IMNSHO = In My Not So Humble Opinion,
ROTF = Rolling On The Floor,
LMAO = Laughing My A** Off,
LOL = Laughing / Laughs Out Loud,
BTW = By The Way,
CUL = See You Later,
FYI = For Your Information,
NG = News Group.

Smilees are also spawned from BBS posts!

I remeber those days, hours and hours on a 300 baud modem.

I've found The Tech Dictionary very helpful when trying to understand each new term I run into.

APPY,
Yes, the price is the same, $117, I think.
I remember the uproar, from the EST's, when they made the registration fee, the same as
the Electrician's fee.
Also, Craig, thanks, for that new term,
ROFLMAO, I just about fell off my chair,
you rule! [Linked Image]
