Cool Fiber Optics Chandelier - ECN Electrical Forums

A customer of mine is a maker of custom chandeliers and fixtures for casinos, hotels, restaurants and the like. The artisans there are amazing, & some of their products are just gorgeous.

I thought these FO chandeliers were worth sharing.

Although this one isn't my personal taste, they make them to the customer's wishes. Oh well, "different strokes" I guess.

Is there a 'UL' label for the multi-color glass one?

John, all of the fixtures that come out of the place have UL labels. Even that crazy Medusa.

(They have their own labels per UL 15something or other).

The UL field guy loves the place, on his occasional visits, just because of the unusual and wierd things he sees. Even a 15'-20' diameter fixture is commonplace.

Thanks for the answer! That's what I thought. The 'Medusa' (multi-color glass) looks really $$$$$$; any idea of cost & what does it look like installed. Must be a club kind of thing.

These are way pricey, but very neat! I wonder how much trouble it is to replace the LEDs? The electrical/plumbing combination is very unusual, it would be interesting to see the method of combining the two products.

Hey now! That is different.. I bet that shower alone gives off a really cool lighting effect if the room is completely dark!

That is quite slick! i was thinking of 2 or 3 ways of achieving these or similar results. If anyone is interested, we could talk about it over in the theory section. I'm not talking UL approved, just a battery powered project that you can brush up on some electronics with.

Is there a grinder stuck in that shower head?

Some of those seem to be powered by a waterwheel spinning a small PM motor. The LEDs are quite efficient, and there are no batteries to change...

I was thinking of the possibility of using some sort of Proteus wheel for power but that would add a ton of complexity compared to just using battery power.

Love the faucets, but I am not so sure about the golden shower.

I saw something like those LED faucets advertised over here a couple of months ago.

Those fancy chandeliers are something else. If I put that first one anywhere in my place though, I'd have to start practicing limbo to get underneath it!
