These pictures are of a CICU Hospital project, the conduits are colored to match conduits and J boxes above the ceiling and within the walls, they represent Normal, Critical, Life Safety, and Equipment branches. We have been doing this in Hospitals and some other facilities for 20 years or more. It makes maintenance and up-fits much easier.

Anyways the crew who did this project did an excellent job IMO, even though I may be bragging on them. (They do work for me [Linked Image])

BTW, the work above the suspended ceilings is just as nice. [Linked Image]

Now that is impressive. Both in concept and in execution. You have a right to be proud of them and they should be proud of their work.

In a case like this it's truly a shame to put the suspended ceiling in [Linked Image]

Kudos Roger!
Looks like the type of work I am often accused of over building. (By the boss, as its being done.) But anything less, IMO is not a complete install. (By the time its done, the boss comes in and gets kinda weepy with pride looking at it.)

Its also the type of work that if someone comes in to add to it, they feel the need to adhere to the same quality, and standard. To do otherwise would make them look inferior.

As for labeling conduit, they make some stickers for that type of thing. But probably would not be half as visable as the paint, and cost 4X's as much.

Anyway, darn nice work!

Excellent Work!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not so sure this is a quality installation.....There's a little bit of white overspray on the strut in the last photo. .....Sorry couldn't resist.

Why can't every installation look like this. Neat. Well lighted. Room for future stuff on the strut.

Very very very nice.

Roger,
Really nice job. You are right to be proud of your crew, and they of their work.

Have you considered printing out this topic thread for your guys to read? Post it on the bulletin board?

Roger,

You forgot to say this is the type of work
we ALWAYS do.

Thank you Ohm-Boy.

Dstanford (David) is correct, [Linked Image] and I must also give him credit, as well as his crews who handle the systems (Data, CATV, CCTV, F/A, Access Control, etc...) on many of our projects. Good Job David. [Linked Image]

To whomever asked: "what is craftsmanship," this is it.

Great looking work!

Incidentially, apparently in high security enviroments--CIA HQ in Langely, some State Dept. buildings--the conduit is all required to be exposed and color coded. Odd fact this reminded me of.

Hmmm... That's interesting. I've been wondering about the piping in the TV show Stargate SG-1, where they have racks of conduit in green and orange, and possibly other colors. It appears to actually be filmed in some old military installation. Does anyone know what we're looking at there?

(It occurs to me that whatever it is may be in Canada, as I believe their major filming is in Vancouver.)
