As with all statistics though, I'd look beyond the absolute figures. Are there more or fewer electricians working in Sweden compared to 30 years ago? Are the same number of man-hours being worked overall? Those sort of things can color the figures considerably when we're looking at only a few a year.

I don't have those figures. I just felt I'd drop something positive in this forum, to show that the work of those who promote safety does pay.

How many Electricians are there in Sweden?.
That's a big reduction in deaths, even if it is over 30 years, from 32 to 7 deaths, is quite remarkable.
Does Sweden have regular safety courses for Electricians?.

I wrote to the people issuing electrician's licenses and they told me that they didn't know how many active (i.e. working) electricians there are. However, currently 12500 people hold an unlimited license for work at any voltage while 14300 hold an unlimited license for voltages below 1000V only.
Finally there are nearly 14000 limited licenses (disconnect/connect/replace) but those don't count as electricians.
The license expires when you turn 75, but many renew it after that. This probably means that many of the electricians active in 1970 still hold a license.
