Is it legal to have a 20a 120v single recepticle outdoors "not GFI protected", for a spa if the spa has its own GFI built into the plug? Does the recept have to be 5 feet away from the spa?

I believe the only exception to GFCI protection for 120 volt receptacles in dwellings is for de-icing equipment. No one knows if someone will unplug the spa and plug in a hedge clipper at some point.
