It appears that the sparky found a way to both increase box capacity, as well cover the box.

He couldn't find an extender box?
The trouble people go through, to do something wrong amazes me..
Looks like he needs bender practice too.

The boxes are ever so slightly out of alignment.... he ran the scres mos of the way in, then inserted with a twist, so the screw heads caught on the tabs of the other box.

Genius! Now that's real smart. Looks like that conduit on the right was "swooped" down, instead of a nice offset..

Luke, blame that on my poor picture... that "swoop" is actually the only time I've ever seen "smurf tube" used.... it's not always blue!

I'll just sit here and continue scratching my head over those boxes. LOL What's funny is that sort of stupidity would have never crossed my head. There are just some things that you just can't....conceive, ya know?

Well... look it this way, at least box fill requirements likely weren't violated. How very code conscious.
Imagine the time spent "adjusting" the screws just right to get the "cover box" locked into place.

Are we sure thats not an extension ring facing the wall with a box on the "wrong" side?
