So yeah....how DID this guy attach a box to a box?
The boxes are ever so slightly out of alignment.... he ran the scres mos of the way in, then inserted with a twist, so the screw heads caught on the tabs of the other box.
Genius! Now that's real smart.
Looks like that conduit on the right was "swooped" down, instead of a nice offset..
Luke, blame that on my poor picture... that "swoop" is actually the only time I've ever seen "smurf tube" used.... it's not always blue!
I'll just sit here and continue scratching my head over those boxes. LOL
What's funny is that sort of stupidity would have never crossed my head. There are just some things that you just can't....conceive, ya know?
Well... look it this way, at least box fill requirements likely weren't violated. How very code conscious.
Imagine the time spent "adjusting" the screws just right to get the "cover box" locked into place.

For example, I had never before seen a 1:1 transformer! I just assumed transformers were for changing the voltage; I have no idea what he was trying to accomplish.

Hot Line, I must confess that I never looked into the smurf... cold as it may sound, the smurf was well outside the scope of the work I was hired to do.
