I'm tapping from the load side of the 100 Amp service disconnect and feeding a 20 amp overcurrent protective device located less than 10' away using 12 AWG wire in conduit. Is that Code compliant?

Is the OCPD going to be located at the top of the wood pole?
If yes, doesn't it have to be readily accesible?
...or no higher than 6'7".

ShockMe77,
It will be located <=10' from the 100 amp service disconnect. (Click on the photo link I provided in my original post)

Oh, I didn't realize the black outline was where the disco was going to be. I read the thread and thought the disco was going to be at the top of the pole. It didn't make much common sense to me.

Frank this sounds like it is compliant.... how are you going to tap the load side?

Split bolt connectors will be used. I'd like to tap 12 AWG to the 3 AWG. If a split bolt connector is not made to do so I'll have to use a larger guage wire as was suggested by the post by "earlydean" above.

hey Frank, check out Ilsco.( www.ilsco.com) they have lots of different "lay-in" type connectors for tapping, even for the sizes you are using. (never been a fan of split bolts) or like bossman said, try lug kits. just a suggestion. http://ebusiness.ilsco.com/webapp/w...Id=-1&catalogId=1&categoryId=132 they even make covers for all their different taps/connectors.
