Every should know that sec. 680-73 of the NEC says that you need a #8 solid copper wire to bond the motor to the water pipe. My question is would a #6 copper stranded wire be OK? What would be the harm in that? Any thoughts?
Harold: The "book" says #8 solid specifically. I know where you are coming from, and perhaps its the "corrosion" thing if it's stranded....but according to sub-code it has to be!
Every one knows what the code reads, but I sometimes wonder what the intent of the code really is? I wish that I could find out the intent of the code is and where to find it.
