Barry - what 'upcoming Calif.' test are you referring to? I'd heard the certification exam has been put off for quite a while yet.

Barry, you might check for amendments to the NEC in the state's electrical safety laws. Here in Oregon I know we are required to include equipment grounding conductors in pipes up on the roof..very easy for people to abuse the conduit and break connections.
