can anyone explain the hazards of running a 4wire subfeed 120/240 AND puting in ground rods. Other than the fact that you shouldn't i'd like to brush up on the theory behind it.
I have worked as an apprentice and on to a journeyman in a general construction company. 90% of what I do is residential. I have an associats degree in electrical technology. I have started my own buisness this year and am with out the help of other electricians. this is why i find this site so helpful.

NJI, can anyone explain the hazards of running a 4wire subfeed 120/240 AND puting in ground rods. Other than the fact that you shouldn't i'd like to brush up on the theory behind it. Who told you that you shouldn't do both? If the sub panel is at a second building and you pull an EGC, the code requires a grounding electrode system at the second building. Don

No, it's bond neutral to ground, or 4-wire.
