Does anyone know where I can go to get diagrams/schematics for switches(SP-ST-SB, SP-DT-SB, DP-DT-SB, etc). I would love to get info for slide type switches, rotory switches (6, 8, etc. points), snap swithces (like a light switch), etc.

Once upon a time I came accross a web-site that had this sort of thing, and of course, I don'thave a clue where I saw it.

Thanks
Steve

SP= single pole
ST= single throw

DP= double pole
DT= double throw

SB= I have no idea!

CO= center off

All of these really don't need diagrams unless you are drawing them, the configurations are generally just understood though it is electronics parlance. For instance a standard single pole snap switch would be a SPST. A 3 way switch would be SPDT.

There are so many types and configurations beyond those that they are only limited by imagination. Slide and rotary are only a few. I think the only place you will get a education on what's available is to browse the manufacturers catalogs.

This is not what the OP is talking about but if you work around motors and drum switches this is a great page. Toward the back they answer a lot of motor wiring delimas. http://www.hubbell-icd.com/icd/drum/files/Catalog%204258%20Drum%20Controllers.pdf
