... and you will need to give them your bank account number so they can EFT the funds to you.

Don't do it. The transaction will be going the wrong way

Joe, this is amazing, I won too!
I just received the following e-mail.

Good day,

This is Mrs Karin Jansen the

Millionaire Lotto is an independent lotto organization in the

internet. However,we wish to congratulate you over your success in our
computer balloting sweepstake held on 18th

email address attached to ticket number LNT456780909893 and drew the
lucky numbers 4-10-12-55-25-87,batch number 4978/NL and consequently
won the lottery in the 1st category.

This is a millennium scientific
computer game in which email addresses were used and it is a
promotional program aimed at encouraging internet users;so you do not
need to buy a ticket to enter for our online lotto program. Note that
this program was largely promoted and sponsored by a group of
philanthropist, industrialists from the internet ware industry and some
other big multinational firms who wish to be anonymous. Therefore, you
have been approved for a lump sum amount of U.S $1million dollars
credited as Bond into your security file LOTTERY REF NUMBER
Amt/nt/423275/01 with our security agent. This amount is from the total
prize money of $15,800,000 shared among the seventeen international
winners in categories C with serial number:IL/PLW/18-0547671754.

This
email is not one of those numerous lotto email scams you might have
received in the past which some unscrupulous people in the world at
large are using to require for your Bank account information in order
to perpetrate their illicit lotto scams. Please note that you have the
choice of receiving your funds either by Diplomatic cargo delivery/
Wiring transfer or by Insurance cheque. Therefore,to confirm the
legitimacy of our lotto
program, the below website is one of the
websites we are running over the internet concerning our lottery
programs in the Netherlands.

However,to begin your
claim, being non-netherlands resident or citizen, you are required within
two days to officially notarize your winning claim at the Dutch Court
of Justice in the Netherlands to sign the Release Order and the
clearance papers that will enable the paying Amex Consulting Agency
release your winning funds to you. But in caseyou cannot come to the
Netherlands within the stipulated two days,do inform your claim officer
to make proper arrangement regarding your claim notarization. Once your
claim is fully notarized and a copy of the Notary receipt from the
court is forwarded to us,we will provide you with your Award winning
Certificate. Please for more information concerning the claim of your
winning funds,we advise you to forward a confirmation email to your
claim officer at the paying Amex Consulting Agency and as well follow
their claim instructions. Below is the contact details of your claim

Conclusively, Arnes Millionaire Lotto is not a scam organization
therefore this mail should not be treated as a scam scheme or be taken
for granted,we are backed up by the appropriate lottery law in the
Netherlands and only the successful winners in this our online lotto
program receive this congratulation mail and because you won that is
why this mail is being directed to you. Remember that all prize money
must be claimed not later than 21 working days. After the last day, all

I've "won" so many lotteries that I must be a billionaire by now. Phony lotteries seem to have replaced earlier Nigerian scams where a poor "victim of circumstance" with $30,000,000 or so needs you, an anonymous e-mail contact, to assist him in getting all this cash away from some terrible dictator, country, disaster, war zone, etc. If you bite, you'll be asked to provide your bank numbers, post a cash bond, or some other means to prove that you are "trustworthy and reliable."

Common sense says, if you didn't buy a lottery ticket, you didn't win anything. If by chance you did happen win an international lottery, first notification would at least be in the form of a registered letter if not a personal delegation showing up at your front door.

Never respond to this garbage no matter how tempting it is tell the dirt-bag how you really feel about him, his associates, and all of his ancestors! Doing so only verifies that your e-mail address is valid, which guarantees even more junk mail.

Well I don't need any lottery money, because right now I'm waiting for several nice Nigerian gentlemen to send me several million dollars which once belonged to some most unfortunate Generals. [Linked Image]

The phone number in Roger's winning e-mail is actually a cellphone. I'm sure that will inspire confidence. Mind you, just look at the e-mail address:

EMAIL: amexCONagency@fsmail.net

At least they got that part right! [Linked Image]

By the way, that 23 Rijnwegstraat must be a busy place. Just look at all the different lotteries running there:
