I have a customer with a 1980s cast-iron bathtub with a non-functioning pump or control. He said all the hardware is Kohler & suspects that the tub is also a Kohler. The access is only about 18" square, with the pump about 2' from the opening. The problem is mostly access, but also how to test the motor without removing it. I haven't seen it yet, but suspect it's just a 20-amp, 120-volt. There is only a pump, not a heating element.

Is this something that could be run with a spring wound timer? I'd like to help him out, but motor testing/repair/replacement isn't quite my line.
