good morning ,so I'm working on a old grain elevator and i need to find out some motor taps on an existing motor
the only thing i can make out on the nameplate is
fxb143tcfr7033bawccw
I'm pretty sure that the last 3 are counter clockwise
can somebody point me in the right direction

Hi there rhiphi,
That is a shocker of a code.
A google search came up with this thread, blast! crazy

What is it that you need to know with respect to this motor?

If possible, a picture of the open terminal box would really help and maybe the nameplate.

There is a lot of people here that are very experienced in motors, we just need a bit more info.

Good morn Trumpy,
What I'm looking for is where to put my voltage.......
ie........1,4,9
3,6
7,8,2
for 120 volt
The jbox is in bad shape
there are some leads tied together
Didn't write down the the grouped numbers
I'll drive out there to see if i can read any more info

Check if it's 180VDC or 3-phase AC.

You might poke around this website:

http://jamiesonequipment.thomasnet.com/

Let's parse the number:

fxb143tcfr7033bawccw

fxb = Cooper power system recloser control for DC Motors (?)

http://www.cooperpowereas.com/Products/RecloserControls/FXA-FXB.cfm

143TC = NEMA size 143T;

C = C-face mount, motor bolts up radially around the shaft.

F = class F insulation, a severe duty rating.

ccw = counter clockwise; normally used to indicate that this 180VDC or 3-phase motor MUST be wired for such due to the nature of the driven load.

I swiped this from the Furnas site but the last page has a lot of different types of motor designs and the wiring that will make them work from a drum switch. It has helped me sort out some strange stuff I have run into.

If its got 9 leads, its a 3 phase ac motor, dual voltage.

I have never seen an ac motor marked for direction, except single phase.
So what do you have? 3 Phase or single phase? And what voltage? You have not provided enough information.
