"Making the Team: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders"

We often hear questions about hiring, firing, review, training .... all those business things that have nothing to do with making electrons flow to the right places.

I recommend this program - and not for the cheesecake factor! Though, I do admit that the girls are lots more fun to watch than any "management guru" I've ever seen!

Rather, the show details how they go about, every year, assembling a squad of 35 from the 600+ girls who make it past the first screening. It's about the selection, training, and ... cutting ... that goes into making the team.

For anyone involved in hiring, or leading, this series is a must-see.

I think I see your point. Imagine 600+ qualified electricians applying to work for me and who have had a lifelong dream of being my employee. They'll compete for the position for hours a day (day after day) at no pay, just for a chance at being on my team.

Just got around to seeing the movie "The Pursuit of Happiness" a couple of nights ago. Not much eye candy but the concept was the same as Dave describes. A group of potential stock brokers all working for free in hopes of being the chosen one. Good movie.
