Was anybody ever approached by a News channel team to answer questions?
And if so,how do you react.
We had a situation here not to long ago and
maybe we will have one again soon.Just want to be prepared.

Yes, but it had nothing to do with Electricity.

I was on the "big story" one day, my nieghbor shot a couple people.

My advise, walk the other way, they will manipulate your words for their benefit.

I don't have much to do with "the media." First of all, their reporting/ editing process has gotten things so wrong, or even backwards, so many times it's not funny anymore.
Secondly, it is clear from many of the errors, or the questions asked, that these folks are absolutly ignorant of the topics that they report upon.
Finally, I truly resent folks who cleverly ask the same darn questions repeatedly- as if a slight change in their wording will result in a different answer.

It is clear that they have nothing but contempt for the "common people." I return the favor.

yeah reno
u got the point
but especially in those cases, where they reverse the answers and edit the statements
a prepared technician is more needed than ever.
We had a case like that here in pa and it is sure not the last one.
The preparation for this is important i think.
unless they have real prove as in $ 6000 for a 200 a servie,right?

I was not poking fun at your spelling. I was curios as to how the media was supposed to relate to our trade. With your last comment I see where you are going with this.
As with anyone who has a product for sale, there will always be someone who will who will try to cheat someone else. Its repeted though time. Its not something that is rampant in our trade though. Most of our business comes from referals.
But I have installed 200A services that cost in excess of $3k. It depends on the degree of dificulty not just the cost of materials.

Copperseller, don't worry about the spelling-that's irrelevant. Do a lot of texting on your mobile? Gud 4 U!
One of the finest engineers of the 18th Century, Thomas Telford, could hardly read or write;- http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/SCtelford.htm

hmm ok
For one more time.
It is not the ability to spell right, but to type fast,as short as possible computershort and ...as long as you get the message i think we are fine.
So back to the topic.
The approach by certain media,in regards of contractor pricing is sure an old shoe.
What i was asking is:What is the best way to handle a situation like that, what is a good response and how to prevent it if possible [Linked Image]

My reply is a simple "Not interested. Good-Bye." If they continue to talk, want to know why, etc...they end up talking to themselves.

I won't deal with them, They are not my friend. If there is some terrible injustice to correct, I have employees (police, inspectors, judges) to deal with that.
