I removed the logo on the sign through "puter magic".</font>

And what did you remove from the LB?

This must be a new installation... the vines haven't grown over it yet.

The first pic has a suspicious gray area on the LB.

As if we could have never guessed from the shape of the sign...

do you think it was originaly installed in the hole, and pulled out?

The markings on the LB is writing of some sort (price?) No, the first one is an upside-down "P"? Almost looks like the word "PET" but that makes no sense. My original pic has a tad better resolution, I think Bill's JPG compressor might be set a tad high... I'll be stopping here for gas tomorrow, so I'll get a closer look.

It's rigid pipe, so it hasn't been moved, it's nicely plumb and square, and also there is nothing to fasten to on the inside, that I could see. I believe the square hole in the sign post should have been the hand hole access, and the conduit should be fastened to the other side of the pipe, but the beam is in the way.

The sign of the competitor's across the street is well over 100' tall, requires two semi trucks to bring a crane tall enough to get a man-cage up just to change the bulbs. I can only imagine what that costs... [Linked Image]

The useless sign editing shows my bizarre sense of humor... [Linked Image]

one February i was in a bucket up as high as it would go, the sign had large pieces that slid out of grove channels.

on sliding one out, it caught the wind and actually started to lift me out of the bucket.

i sure was glad i had the lanyard on!

About 20 yrs ago, I worked for a co, (Manor, we pronounced it "manure") w/a sign maint dept. One of the guys was in a sign w/a bottom access door, boom extended all the way(c.90'). The boom retracted, leaving him stranded,& wouldn't go back up. The Fire Dept. showed up to get him down, but their boom wasn't quite long enough. He had to hang out of the sign, & drop about 8'to them When he showed @ the shop, wide eyed & sorely bruised from the F-men grabbing him,the boss just asked if he had closed the access door.(that boss ended up being my employee 18 yrs. later...for a very short time)

Off topic:

I forgot to release my lanyard once, I was on a boom lift, was going down after measuring for some pipe, Got jerked up from the cage with my foot just barely off the safety switch/pedal. It took me about a half hour to get out of that mess! I managed to drop almost every tool in my belt onto the switch enough that my foot could maneuver a screwdriver onto it. Talk about embarrassed! No one was wise to it though!

The writing is "P25" apparently circuit 25 on the power panel.
