Do any of you guys use LSF(Low Smoke and Fume) cables?.
I've noticed that these are becoming more popular, in the last couple of years.
Certainly makes sense, because when ordinary PVC burns, it gives off all sorts of nasty chemicals, including Hydrochloric Acid, which means if you have a fire in a switch-board, it normally means replacing all of the MCB's and cables due to acid attack. What are your thoughts on this new LSF stuff?.

It sounds like a good idea, but I can't say I've used it. I don't think the supply house I use most often even carries it.

How does construction and price of the NZ version compare with regular cable?

LSF cables are pretty much manufactured in the same way as your normal PVC TPS(Flat and Circular), the only real difference is in the composition of the core insulation and overall sheathing materials.
This cable is also known as LSOH cable.
Price-wise, LSF cables are about 20% more expensive than standard cables, but the LSF cable has a higher temperature rating of 90 degrees(as opposed to the 70 degrees of TPS).
