Paul recently, had a statement that because of UTC(United Time Co-ordinated,same as the old GMT), that he came in 12 hours after the message had been posted.
I feel the same way, to have a message filled up before you even have a chance to reply, is not fair.
Your thoughts please-

Yep, if I'm displaced a little, then I guess you're really out of it in NZ!

In order to insure that everybody has a fair chance to post, I propose that we create a second artificial sun and adjust the axis of rotation of the earth so that all inhabited parts of the globe have daylight available 24 hours a day. Then we can all use the same fixed time and work and sleep the same hours. Should be easy little Sunday job for the combined skills of ECN members!

On second thought, I'll just go get my lunch..... [Linked Image]

Hear hear, to that, Paul,
I'm pretty sure that we could rattle up another Sun, no worries.
As a sideline, the time shown at the top of each respondents reply, is that UTC or is it based on US Time?.

The posted time for each message is American Eastern Time (5 hours behind GMT). If you look just below the last message of a thread you'll see that it says "All times are ET (U.S.)" The other zones in the Continental U.S. are Central (-6 hrs), Mountain (-7), and Pacific (-8).

With the the U.K. being all on the same time, I've found that a lot of people here seem to have great trouble understanding the really quite simple concept of time zones. I'm wondering whether people in NZ, also being all in one zone, seem to have the same problem?

(By the way, most of Western Europe is an hour ahead of the U.K.)

With NZ being long and thin, we have the same problem as your country,Paul.
Why can we not have the Non-US Forum, referenced to UTC?, not meaning to incite mutiny, but.... [Linked Image]

I doubt that the software Bill's using has any facility to set different time zones for each forum, and as he' based in Long Island it's reasonable to use EST.

Even the California guys in here have to allow for a 3 hour difference remember!

Working out what time it is in some part of Indiana is where it starts to get more complex! [Linked Image]

No worries Paul,
I don't really mind the Time lag,
just as long as ECN is still there when I log on, I don't really care what time it is.
