Where can I locate a block diagram or simple single line diagram of a basic LAN. ie. Router, hub, telecommunication closet, work station PC, printer etc. I scanned a perfect sketch from EC magazine but must have deleted it. It was ideal to view the basic concept of a structured wiring system.

Was thinking of including some drawings which show how Peripherals are connected to home based PCs and LAN based Workstations, plus possibly something showing Motherboards + Bus adapters and drives.

Is it worth it, to identify the blue connection from the router to the hub/switch be connected to a "uplink" port on the switch, or are you assuming it is autosensing?
