Well, the MC is outside of the classified area, however:

I wonder where they made the transition from MC cable to wire (You don't suppose it's in the sealing fitting, do you?) [Linked Image]
The plumber's bell reducer, lack of strapping, and possible weather problems add a nice touch though, don't they?...S

Is it MC or 3/8 flex?? Pretty shabby no matter what.

FWIW, there are listed reducing couplings intended for the application. www.appletonelec.com/PDF/I-3-19.pdf#I19 [No comment on the “flex.”]
