this has nothing to really do with electrical work. This is one of those 4x 12 gluelams used to support heavy loads. Well i had to cut a switch in somewhere below it, found that there wasn't really much holding it, which was noted by the GC, and the kaos began...

The way i figure it, if it looks funny, and it's not my trade, it's probably so...

more on this,
i had to take off the piece of plywood below in pix #1 to enter a wire, when i did people took note, and cut the V out of the plywood above.

The only thing holding this is just the waferboard above it

From the looks of it, I bet it is only holding floor load and a non bearing wall directly above it. That still doesn't make it right though.

It looks as though the supports for the beam are just to the right of the beam, OOPS!!
